Estrogen Fest II: This year's Estrogen Fest celebrates empowering women, collaboration, and reuniting with nature. Come celebrate with us, volunteer your talents, offer a workshop, or sell your wares - learn why 'The new Me is We'. Estrogen Fest creates a kind of vibrational ecology that links us all, through fundamentals such as friendship, music and nature.

For more than 10 years, the Godmothers have led a collaborative to transform our cities, neighborhoods, and individual lives. This year we are raising funds to build a safe, fun playground for elementary school children residing in Detroit. Please come celebrate womanhood... your estrogen, meet new friends and help create the future for many.

We Welcome Your Ideas and Participation!
The second annual event is being held at Proud Lake Recreation Area in Commerce Township, Michigan. Proud Lake is the perfect place for this event, and is only 35 minutes North West of Detroit. This is a private secluded area along the Huron River, featuring the private “V.I.P. Lodge” with sleeping accommodations for up to 50, a conference center and The River Hawk Cafe with an adjoining deck. Enjoy fabulous food, friends and music surrounded by nature at its best!

Fabulous local and nationally known women entertainers will perform during the afternoon into the evening on the outside stage, and in the cafe'. During the day, the grounds will accommodate a market place for women to sell their wares; a variety of workshops for like minded women; and nature activities. Come out and enjoy a weekend of musicians, artists, free thinkers, food and fun. Workshops will be posted May.

KICK-OFF PARTY: Friday Gates open at 5p.m.
V.I.P MINGLER PARTY STARTING AT 7 P.M. in the Conference Center. WINE. FOOD. MUSIC. Everyone welcome!

SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Musical performances will begin at noon and carry on into the evening with local and national headliners, recording artists and bands. Join us Saturday Afternoon in the Music CAFE for "The Original Spoken Word'' Hosted by Chicago's Award winning Slam Poet Tristan Silvermen, with special Guest Ami Mattison. There will be an open Mic between readings. Bring us your words and Slam with the best!

Sunday will include leisure activities, “Old School” reunions, live D.J.’s from past and present, more contests wrapping up the weekend with an Afternoon Tea Dance.

Stay for the whole weekend, or just come for the day, either way you won't want to miss Estrogen Fest II - 2008.

This is a charity event. All proceeds will go to building an inner city playground. Other proceeds from the festival and 50/50 raffle will benefit area "No Kill Animal Rescues" and shelters.

ACCOMODATIONS
Proud Lake Recreation Area features a modern campground with over 135 campsites. To make campsite reservations visit www.Michigan.gov/dnr and select Proud Lake Campground, or call 800-44parks to reserve your campsite today. Campsites are going fast so reserve yours early. Michigan State Park Motor Vehicle Permit are required. Vehicle permits are available for puchase at the park entrance. Daily permits are $6, annual permits are $24 and good at all Michigan State Parks.

Not into camping? There are also a number of hotels in the area for you to choose from. Book your rooms early! There are number other events taking place in the area at the end of July.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Godmothers are looking for a few good women dedicated to helping make this festival a success. We need volunteers for security, parking, the cafe', and other glamorous work.
